Justin Bieber Is The Most Searched-For Person Of 2011
Sorry, Kim Kardashian — your wedding and divorce may have made big news this year, but it wasn’t enough to surpass the public’s interest in Justin Bieber, as the 17-year-old pop star was named the most searched-for person in 2011. That’s not surprising, considering 2011 brought us a cornucopia of Bieber stories: movies! Saturday Night Live! Tattoos! Raps! Christmas albums! Paternity suits! And let’s not forget his romance with Selena Gomez (who, by the way, ranked #11, no doubt thanks to the Bieber association).
The rest of the Top 10 was a girls’ club: pop gals Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry proved they really run the world, as far as Internet searches go.
Most surprising of all is Jennifer Lopez coming in at #5, particularly since she wasn’t even in the Top 50 last year. Oh, what a break-up and a gig on American Idol can do!
