It’s time to wrap up another aurally pleasurable week of our video project, At Your Request. Today’s song request has us time traveling back to 1998. Below, watch as we breakdown a Lauryn Hill timeless hit that not only made helped the R&B singer clean up at the 41st Annual Grammys.

A big thanks to requester @tunechi42for demanding that we play Lauryn’s “Doo Wop (That Thing)”. Not only did the track, and the artist’s debut solo album The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill lead the former Fugee to a record breaking number of nominations and wins at the 1999 Grammy Awards, its music video also scored big at the VMAs. With help from directors BigTV!, Ms. Hill was able to take home four moon men.

While we brush up on Lauryn’s lyrics before hitting the karaoke bar this weekend, drop us a line with your request on Facebook, Twitter (#AtYourRequest) or just comment below. We’ll be back next week with another dose AYR.
