Rihanna has been busy on her grind promoting Talk That Talk while simultaneously in the throes of a world tour for Album Of The Year nominee Loud. But the pop star may soon be slowing down to “Take Care” of herself. The Mirror reports that Rihanna’s label has imposed a curfew and 24-hour surveillance on the “You Da One” singer following an alleged backstage freakout and a near-canceled performance in Dublin, Ireland on Thanksgiving. If true, the incident isn’t the first hint that RiRi is maybe a little tired.
Shortly before she was set to take the stage on the Emerald Isle last week, she tweeted “I’m so light-headed! WTF!!!!!!” Twitter was the same way we found out that Rihanna was battling the flu when she was hospitalized in Sweden last October, which led to a canceled Malmo performance.
The cheeky singer has managed to squeeze in some R&R over the course of her 10-month Loud tour, including time at the family table in her native Barbados, but Mercury execs don’t seem to think it’s been enough, especially as the team gears up to film a live Loud tour DVD this month. In preparation, Rihanna is rumored to begin getting in shape with Mariah Carey’s trainer, Patricia Gay.
Is it just us, or does it seem a little counterintuitive to push the pop star to work out harder when it sounds like all the girl needs is a few lazy days and maybe a sandwich? Let us know your thoughts on Twitter, Facebook or in the comments below.
