Greyson Chance wants to keep it real, you guys. So real, that instead of hiring child actors for the inspirational new video for his single “Hold On ‘Til The Night”, he cast “real-life” kids. No glossy headshots stuffed in these pre-teens’ back pockets – now that’s real. Catch Gaga’s little buddy‘s black-and-white video after the jump, and find how lightbulbs play a big part in Greyson’s message.

The video’s director Dano Cerny described Greyson’s video as being about enlightenment. “It’s about shedding light and feeling powerful, so we came up with this cool installation piece using light bulbs,” he said in a behind-the-scenes clip. “Just keep it really simple, but it’s something that symbolizes a bigger universe out there. Each kid is a light bulb, each kid is a little beacon of hope.”

He adds, “We had this really simple black and white concept, kind of inspired by Andy Warhol’s famous portrait screen tests, and we kind of just made something very raw and simple.”
