Katy Perry Responds To Divorce Gossip
Following the news of her husband Russell Brand filing for divorce, there was a long silence on Katy Perry’s Twitter account — and no wonder, since we’re sure anything she said would have been twisted to somehow be a reflection of her marital crisis. But prior to appearing at the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday, Katy has finally addressed the rumor mill via a tweet: “Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, ‘close sources’ or my family.” This follows her religious parents telling their church: “I’m sure Katy is trending on the internet just to get you to church tonight.” Yikes! Clearly Katy isn’t happy with coverage of her marital woes, and her silence has invited a lot of speculation. We’re glad she’s speaking for herself now, and seems to be in a good place. Her only other tweet of late says: “I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again.”
