Emeli Sande Premieres “Next To Me” Lyric Video
Here in the States, we have to wait until June for the official release of Our Version Of Events, the debut LP from Brit Critics’ Choice Award recipient Emeli Sande. But the album, which contains such tunes as “Heaven” and “Daddy”, hits the UK on February 13, and Emeli’s third single “Next To Me” arrives one day before that. Catch the lyric video for the stomping, piano-driven song below! The music for “Next To Me” appears to have been inspired by “Rolling In The Deep” and “9 To 5”, while, vocally, Emeli appropriately seems to be channeling Dolly Parton. And, strangely, it all works! (We’re particularly fond of those rousing “woo hoos”!)
