You’d think Jay-Z would have enough to do in his first few days as a new father, but the proud poppa somehow found time to hit the studio to drop a new song in honor of the newest addition to his family. The rapper and new father updated a new track onto his Life + Times blog, the heartwarming “Glory”. “The most amazing feeling I feel… Baby, I paint the sky blue / My greatest creation was you,” raps Jay on the emotional track that features B.I.C. — that would be Blue Ivy Carter. Get the Kleenex out and listen below.

In the Neptunes-produced song, Jay-Z describes his daughter as “a pinch of Hov, a whole glass of B”, and we can even hear the baby’s first cries in the delivery room. Not even a week old and she’s already got a featured credit on a song!

Elsewhere in the track, Hov reveals that he and Beyonce had previously suffered a miscarriage: “You was made in Paris and mama woke up the next day and shot her album package / Last time the miscarriage was so tragic / We was afraid you disappeared but nah baby, you magic.”

We’re tearing up over here. But what do you think of Jay’s tribute to his daughter? And anyone else think Glory would have been an even better baby name than Blue Ivy?
