Lana Del Rey’s BBC 6 Music Interview & Performances: Listen

Lana Del Rey recently sat down with BBC 6 Music personality Huey Morgan for an interview, and she also brought along her band for performances of  “Video Games”, “Blue Jeans” and “Born To Die”. Yes, performances. And — would you look at that — she sounded just fine. In fact, the stripped-down “Born To Die” was downright impressive (not to mention quite mellow). Anyway, Del Rey discussed her influences with Huey, as well as the early days of “Video Games”, the song that made her famous. “It actually didn’t get much of a reaction at first, because when I first started playing it for people, on the demo, it was just me and a piano,” Del Ray says of her debut single. “People said, oh, that’s a nice song, but move on and try to write something upbeat.”

Lana recently admitted that she doesn’t think she’s a good performer on live TV. How do you think she did in this British radio appearance?
