Kid Cudi Blogs After Stage Rage In Melbourne

Kid Cudi was fighting mad when, after refusing to end his set early, his mic got cut during the Heatwave Music Festival stop in Melbourne over the weekend. The WZRD wizard’s response was to then start knocking over stage equipment. “If my set is EVER cut short at any show, im trashing the stage,” Cudder blogged following the drama. “Not out of anger, it takes a lot to get me furious nowadays, but out of principle.” AceShowbiz reports that promoters were forced to cut short the gigs of several acts “due to poor management” and the fact that the first artist’s set started three hours late. Cudi continued on his tumblr blog: “The fans always deserve a full set at all shows, especially when they spend their hard earned money on expensive tickets. A lot of artist wouldnt do what I did in Australia, but I will. Spread the word.”

Here’s footage of the rock-leaning MC’s destruction at the fest:

It appears that he was asked to cut the set short by a half-hour, and when he refused, his mic was cut. After trying a few other mics on the stage proved to be fruitless, he started knocking things over on stage, much to the amusement of his audience.

Cudi rounded out his online rant with the following:

“No matter the circumstance, cut my set short, im breaking shit. And next time im startin a riot. Me and my fans. Cause promoters will sometime take advantage of the artists, and u gotta let em know what time it is. Cutting nobody any slack.”

And things seemed to be going so well Down Under just a week prior, when the Heatwave fest hit Middleton and he debuted new WZRD jam “Teleport 2 Me”.

Do you think Cudi was justified in taking out his anger on the poor, defenseless stage lights?
