Katy Perry Lands Sixth #1 Hit… On The Pop Songs Chart

With the release of a sixth single, a remix and an acoustic version of “The One That Got Away”, Katy Perry and Capitol are desperately trying to get the pop star to hold the record for the most #1 singles from the same album on the Hot 100 (an honor she currently shares with Michael Jackson). That seems less and less likely of happening — the song peaked at #3 and is currently at #5 — but at least Katy can claim the record for having six singles off Teenage Dream hit #1 on the Pop Songs chart.

The record was previously held by Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake, who claimed four #1 singles each from their albums The Fame and FutureSex/LoveSounds, respectively. Katy previously topped the Pop Songs charts with her One Of The Boys singles “Hot N Cold” and “Waking Up In Vegas”.

Any bets on Team Perry releasing a seventh bonus single off Teenage Dream when she re-releases the album in March?
