Katy Perry’s “Part Of Me”: Listen To A Snippet

The first single off Katy Perry’s upcoming Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection will be “Part Of Me” (out February 21), and it’s yet another Dr. Luke/Max Martin co-production. If you heard the full-length demo that leaked at some point last year, then you might be interested to spin the snippet of the final version that’s surfaced. (Best hurry, though, before it gets yanked off YouTube.) Get a brief taste of the dance-pop confection that’s sure to become Katy’s umpteenth Top 10 hit below.

“This is the part of me that you’re never gonna ever take away from me,” Perry repeats on the chorus of the booming “Part Of Me”. Given that she probably wrote this song last year, one would assume it was penned with someone other than her ex-husband (yes, the divorce is final) Russell Brand.

Anyway, there’s not much to go by with this brief clip, but we’ll be wild and preposterous and state now that if “California Gurls”, “Firework” and “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” rocked your socks,  this song is going to please you as well.
