Whitney Houston’s absence at the 54th Annual Grammys, following her tragic passing yesterday, will certainly be felt by all who were inspired by her voice, career and music. With hearts still heavy from the news of her untimely death, we’ve decided to try fill the void left by the pop icon with a look back at her most incredible Grammy performances, dating all the way back to 1986. Below, watch one incredible, flawless performance after another from a diva who made it all look so effortless.

1986: Whitney performed “Saving All My Love For You” for the 28th Annual Grammy Awards and later took home Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for the song.

1987: The siren received a standing ovation for “The Greatest Love Of All” at the 29th Grammy Awards. While the track was nominated for Record Of The Year, Whitney lost to Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love”.

1988: Whitney kicked off the 30th Annual Grammys with “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)” which won an award for Best Pop Vocal Performance later that night.

1989: Whitney earned her second Grammys standing ovation for this performance of “One Moment In Time”.

1994: Whitney performed “I Will Always Love You” from The Bodyguard soundtrack at the 36th Annual Grammys. It went on to win Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

1997: Whitney performed alongside CeCe Winans, Mary J. Blige and Brandy for a Waiting To Exhale medley at the 39th annual Grammy Awards.

2000: For the 42nd Annual Grammy awards Whitney performed “I Learned From The Best”, which begs the question: Who is possibly better than Whitney?
