Jennifer Lopez Is A Carefree Clothes Horse In Darren Aronofsky-Directed Kohl’s Ad

Jennifer Lopez has previously paired her music with her corporate shilling — such as how her “Papi” video doubled as a Fiat commercial. She’s at it again in her new Kohl’s commercial, which features both her “Classic: Remixed” spring collection of womenswear (thanks to a variety of smoothly-edited costume changes) and J-Lo’s cover of the 1974 Kiki Dee Band single “I Got the Music in Me.” More surprising, however, is the news that this spot was directed by Darren Aronofsky, the Oscar nominee behind Black Swan (who has directed musicians in ads before). Watch below.

We can sort of see the similarities between this commercial and Black Swan‘s intense ballet sequences (there’s dancing and, um, transformation), but unfortunately the saber-tooth sexpot neither sprouts feathers nor hallucinates a tryst with Mila Kunis before the 30 seconds are done.

At ad’s end, J-Lo sings, “I got no troubles in my life” — hmm. We’re not exactly sure that’s true, but she sells it well. We’ll run with it.

Does this make you want to head over to Kohl’s? Or just watch Black Swan again? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter or in the comments.
