Following Rihanna’s recent collaborations with her ex Chris Brown, the Barbadian singer’s pal Nicki Minaj has taken a cue and teamed up with Breezy on the mid-tempo synth jam “Right By My Side”. Nicki tackles the first verse by “pouring our her heart” and stating that she’s not living life if the object of her affection isn’t right by her side. That leaves controversial Chris to answer back with the second verse, where he declares that he wants to “hold your hand, make love again”. Listen to this meeting of the minds below!
With its boom-clap beat and bed of synths, “Right By My Side” is a solid pop track that, dare we say it, actually reminds us a bit of Brown’s 2007 duet with Jordin Sparks, “No Air”.
The song is the latest tune to surface from Minaj’s upcoming Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (out April 3), which also features pair-ups with Lil Wayne, Drake, Young Jeezy, Cam’ron and Rick Ross, among others.
