One Direction’s debut Up All Night has topped the album chart and The Wanted’s “Glad You Came” is soaring at #3 on the Hot 100. The boy band domination of America by these rascally Brits is undeniable, and so Billboard slapped both groups on dueling covers of its upcoming issue. (We’re loving the Tiger Beat-esque layout!) It’s been a decade since Backstreet Boys, N*Sync and 98 Degrees bothered the charts at the same time, but Simon Cowell chimed in with this: “I’ve done this long enough that everything in music and entertainment in cyclical. [Even if] you go back to the Motown days, every time, it always comes back to 12 o’clock. It felt like that time again.” Agree?
