Forget last year’s fad of unicorns — 2012 is the year of the zebra, which graces the cover art of the Scissor Sisters‘s new single, “Only The Horses”, off their upcoming fourth studio album Magic Hour. The cheerful, energetic tune was produced by Calvin Harris (Rihanna’s “We Found Love”) and Boys Noize’s Alex Rihda, who released a 65-minute remix of Scisor Sisters’ tunes last year. But it turns out the roots of the collaboration may date back even further.

Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears told BBC1’s Fearne Cotton that “I’ve known Calvin for quite a while, we met originally making some music with Kylie [Minogue] for the Aphrodite album. He’s just a lovely guy, he’s so wonderful.” The band’s Magic Hour (due May 28) also features production or other contributions from Pharrell Williams, Diplo and Azealia Banks (“Shady Love”).
