Esperanza Spalding Brings “Black Gold” And “Crowned & Kissed” To ‘The Daily Show’
Long forgiven for beating out Justin Bieber for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2011 — perhaps because of her star-making “In Memorium” performance at this year’s Academy Awards — Esperanza Spalding and her band performed two songs off her new album Radio Music Society on The Daily Show Thursday night (Apr. 12). With her bass slung low, the lovely vocalist charmed the audience — and extended the invitation to join her band, also called Radio Music Society — with the smooth rollicking “Black Gold” and “Crowned & Kissed.” Head below to watch.
