Kendrick Lamar has spent the last several days helping to stoke the excitement for Sunday’s headlining performance by Dr. Dre (strongly rumored to feature holograms of the late Nate Dogg, and possibly of Tupac Shakur). “People are going to cry”, Lamar told Power 106 this week. But Lamar is no slouch himself, and helped kick off this year’s Coachella with a punchy main-stage set dropping fluid verses from his Section.80 collection, including “A.D.H.D.” and “”Rigamortus”. (Fellow rapper Childish Gambino — aka Donald Glover — was seen rhyming along with Lamar from sidestage). Lamar’s DJ confirmed another treat for Sunday night’s performance by Dre: Lamar will join him for a rendition of “The Recipe” his new hit with the good doctor.
