Did Nicki Minaj Quit Twitter?!

Young Money femcee Nicki Minaj disappeared from Twitter Sunday (Apr. 15), causing the Barbz’ faithful to get hashtags #NickiIsStillTheQueen and #NickiComeBack to briefly trend. (Notably, hashtag #WeLoveLilKim — referencing Nicki’s perceived nemesis Lil Kim — also began to trend.) Shortly before her account went inactive the most followed rapper on the site tweeted, “Like seriously, its but so much a person can take. Good f***ing bye.” Nicki and her team have yet to confirm the reason for her sudden departure, but some outlets are reporting it may have to do with a song leak and nasty messages she received from her followers.

On Saturday (Apr. 14), Nicki tweeted, “And that’s exactly why I’m paying the barbz DUST right now! And deleting my twitter. Smdh – don’t cry 4 me argentina,” later adding: “On 2nd thought I’ll just follow a new set of barbz. The ones I follow r very mean and ratchet.*side eyes them*”

This isn’t the first time the outspoken rapper has made headlines via the social network. Last November, the Roman Reloaded mastermind took Cher to task after the timeless diva responded to reports that Nicki dissed her on a new track.

Twitter gives users 30 days to reactivate deleted accounts. (Chris Brown and Kid Cudi both ditched the site, only to return later.) We think — and hope! — Nicki will soon be back, especially considering that she’s right in the middle of the promotional cycle for her chart-topping sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

Any celebrity engagement with fans never goes well. You wanna be out there but then you’re out there too much. It’s happened to me in real life. Think you know someone and the next thing they act like you’ve known them forever and go blabbing your business. On the other token you don’t want to be a steel wall. Life’s a bitch, Nicki.

  • Chris

She spit on a major fansite. Of course she deleted her twitter

  • SMH

i cant believe how horrible people have been being to her, she might be doing alot of things people dont understand or like but she is still a human being and she deserves some respect for even achieving as much as she has. i feel so sorry for her, poor girl, i have never seen anyone face as much adversity as nicki minaj. its not nice.

  • Jade

I wouldn’t mind her being on Twitter if she would delete her music career. #WorstmusicEVER

  • vxasjhx

    who fricken cares

  • Roman Dies

I can only hope that she deleted it for good. Nicki has disrespected practically everyone in the business and now she can’t handle a fan backlash? I thought she was in the Hov Lane? Also, NickDaily.com only leaked the snippets from Itunes, not the album.

  • Chanel

im not a fan of hers anyway so if she did leave temporarily or forever thats her decision and not ours. Hey Chris left and return and I didn’t know about Kid Cudi but only God knows if she will ever return.

It’s nothing to get worked up about at all. I think was incredibly rude of Nicki to delete her account just because her fan page leaked snippets of her music. It happens all the time. In fact, you should be a little grateful. She could have handled it in a better way instead of attacking the fan page.
