Cheryl Cole’s Calvin Harris Collaboration “Call My Name” To Premiere This Week
Undaunted by her unceremonious exit from the US version of The X Factor before it even aired last year, Cheryl Cole, second only to Adele when it comes to England’s wealthiest musicians under 30, carried on with recording her third album. The fruit of her labor is A Million Lights, which now has a release date (in the UK, so far) of June 18. Ahead of that, lead single “Call My Name” will get its first play on UK radio this Friday (April 20).
“The epic new single ‘Call My Name’ is written and produced by Calvin Harris and will be released on Sunday 10th June,” touts Cole’s official site.
Perhaps Calvin can pay it forward and help Cheryl finally break through in the States, the way Rihanna did for him last year with “We Found Love”?
That certainly seems to be what the onetime Girls Aloud singer is aiming for, as she hooked herself up with several big name American collaborators for A Million Lights, including Black Eyed Peas‘ mastermind will.i.am, “Love The Way You Lie” producer Alex Da Kid and “Video Games” diva Lana Del Rey.
The video for “Call My Name” was directed by Anthony Mandler, and is set to premiere on May 2.
