Fiona Apple’s “Every Single Night”: Listen

Fiona Apple debuted “Every Single Night” at South By Southwest last month, and now the song, the first official single from upcoming LP (deep, deep breath) The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw, And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do, is being added to iTunes tomorrow. We noted before that Fiona’s live rendition of the tune didn’t exactly scream “single” to us. But now you can give the recorded version a listen below and decide if it’s a decent appetizer before the singer offers up her first LP in seven years.

To our ears, Fiona’s album version of “Every Single Night” doesn’t stray too far from the live rendition she belted out at SXSW in March. It’s a delicate and quirky track, but are we the only ones hoping there’s a bit more stomp and spirit to at least some of the other tunes on Idler Wheel?
