Carrie Underwood certainly found some “real things to sing about” on her fourth studio album, Blown Away. After a two-year break from music, the American Idol Season 4 winner returns with the new record, which sees her taking on dual personalities: the naive “Good Girl” and the older, wiser woman. The multiple CMT Awards nominee co-wrote most of the album — eight of its 14 tracks, including the lead single — and charting some new, dark waters, both lyrically and sonically. One thing that remains the same, though: Carrie’s alacrity to belt it all out. Blown Away is out May 1, but you can listen to it now at iTunes.
