There’s no denying Kanye West is an extremely gifted artist (even if, according to President Barack Obama, he is a jackass), but he’s also a serious procrastinator. The rapper is planning to write, direct, produce and score a new 30-minute movie to debut during the Cannes Film Festival next month, but he “hasn’t even started the film yet”, a source tells the NY Daily News.

The film, Kanye’s first since his epic short Runaway, is described as a “thriller”, and reportedly stars his G.O.O.D. Music family member Kid Cudi. Though it’s not on the festival’s program, West plans to premiere the movie during the festival, and is figuring out how to show the film on seven giant screens at once.

“That’s just the way Kanye does things,” says the source. “He is already talking to the right people to make sure it happens with short notice.”

The Cannes Film Festival runs from May 16 to May 27, so if Kanye wants his film to premiere in that time frame, he better hurry up. Maybe he can get girlfriend Kim Kardashian to hold a boom mic or something?
