Usher’s “Scream”: Listen To The Full Song

Usher‘s full “Scream” single, from upcoming seventh album Looking For Myself, has surfaced. When the snippet popped up yesterday, we noted that the song follows a dance-pop formula you can hear when flipping to any pop station on the radio. And upon taking in Mr. Raymond’s latest in its entirety, our opinion hasn’t really changed. In fact, the opening synths are shamefully similar to those in Taio Cruz‘s 2010 summer jam “Dynamite”. Oh, well — if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, eh, Ush? Listen below.

Usher has consistently scored with upbeat dance jams over the past two years — think “OMG”, “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” and, most recently, his feature on David Guetta‘s “Without You”. And with previous offering “Climax” failing to, er, perform as well, we can probably expect more assembly-line dance floor fodder from the singer.

Still, switching up the beat and chords a bit wouldn’t hurt. The lyrics also sound like fairly standard fare for Usher’s club persona: “And I ain’t trying to fight it, to fight it / But you’re so magnetic, magnetic / Got one life, just live it, just live it / Now relax, sing it on your back.” Read the full “Scream” lyrics for more.

What do you think of Usher’s “Scream”? Does it have lots of bark, or is it more of a whisper?
