Azealia Banks Cancels Summer Festival Dates

Is this what happens when you spend too much time with Lana Del Rey? Buzzed-about rapper Azealia Banks has canceled most of her upcoming appearances in Europe for June, July and August, just as her remix of “Blue Jeans” hit the web. (You’ll recall LDR canceled her 2012 tour, which included a stop at Austin’s SXSW music festival, following her album’s debut earlier this year.) Currently at work on her debut LP Broke With Expensive Taste, she tweeted Friday (Apr. 27), “They were all prematurely booked by my old management without any consideration for me and the album I need to finish!” Azealia’s people confirmed to the UK’s NME that she pulled out because of “recording commitments.” This follows news last week that the rapper had switched management teams and pushed back the release of her 1991EP.
