Fresh off of his jaunt to London, Justin Bieber dropped by the NYU campus to attend the 3rd Annual Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards where the pop star was an honored for “show[ing] that emerging talent can now be sourced online, flattening the hierarchical structure and the barriers to entry.” We would say amassing over 2.7 billion YouTube views and being named 2011’s Most Searched-For Person qualifies the “Boyfriend” singer for the prize.

Speaking of “sourcing online”, the Biebs tweeted about the ceremony to his followers. “Got the DISRUPT award at the tribeca film festival with@scooterbraun. in school i got in trouble for being disruptive. LOOK AT ME NOW. lol…. the award was for how we changed the game. WE. ME and ALL OF YOU did this TOGETHER. THIS IS YOUR AWARD TOO. THANKS.”
