Kat Graham’s “Supa Dope” Lyric Video: Idolator Premiere

Swiss-born, L.A.-raised up-and-comer Kat Graham has successfully transitioned from actress (The Vampire Diaries) to recording artist with the release of her A&M/Octone Records EP Against The Wall. Yesterday she performed her crackin’ single “Put Your Graffiti On Me” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and her track “Heartkiller” is even featured as iTunes’ free download of the week. And like all felines, this Kat is fiercely independent. Take, for instance, her track “Supa Dope”, wherein Graham declares “like the snare on a record, I’m popping’, when they see me, like flies they droppin’.”

Give “Supa Dope” a spin via the lyric video above, which we’re premiering today.

We totally dig Kat’s sassy rap-singing on “Supa Dope”, which is somewhat reminiscent of Gwen Stefani‘s vocal delivery on her hit “Hollaback Girl”. And not only is  Kat, who starred opposite Zac Efron in 17 Again, beautiful and multi-talented, the singer, who obtained a degree in recording engineering, has quite a level head on her shoulders.
