Justin Timberlake Plays Host, Taylor Swift Performs For Wal-Mart Shareholder Meeting

As one of the most influential companies in the world, Wal-Mart knows how to command a crowd. The retailer was able to nab several big names —  Zac Brown Band, Lionel Richie and Taylor Swift — to perform at its annual shareholder meeting Friday (June 1). Swift busted out her song “Mean”, the lead single off 2010’s Speak Now, which of course entered the Billboard chart at #1 thanks in no small part due to strong sales… at Wal-Mart.

Justin Timberlake was also on hand, but his performance consisted mainly of delivering half-baked jokes, as the artist played master of ceremonies for the event. Check out a goofy, bespectacled JT’s awkward-yet-entertaining interview with Swift below.

During his stint as host, Timberlake brought out Swift and introduced her as just a regular Walmart customer. (Riiiiight.)

“My name is Taylor, I’m from Nashville,” the country superstar said to the crowd. “I guess if you’re a singer and you live in Nashville, you’re probably a songwriter, too?” asks JT.

“Yeah, and I have six Grammys, too,” deadpans Taylor. Scoffs Justin: “Waitress!”

The meeting, which took place in  Fayetteville, Arkansas, doubled as the company’s 50th birthday party.
