The Killers Release ‘Battle Born’ Album Trailer

Now that Brandon Flowers has given the solo thing a spin, The Killers have come back together to release their first album in four years, Battle Born. “In a sense, all Americans are battle born,” Flowers recently said, explaining the title (which also happens to be the name of the band’s studio). “Our ancestors came here for something better.”

In the just-released trailer for the anticipated album, we see The Killers posing with purpose as fire burns and suns set in a purple sky. It’s all very dramatic, as though this were a music video for a song off the soundtrack of a Top Gun-like romance-action movie from the ’80s. (Even the retro title card, complete with a lightening bolt, winks to this style.) For those who raised an eye-brow at Muse‘s recent album trailer, there’s not a drop of dubstep to be heard.

Battle Born will drop this fall. Songs include “Heart Of A Girl”, “Flesh And Bone”, “Carry Me Home” and “Runaways”, with production work by Steven Lillywhite (U2), Brendan O’Brien (Flowers’ solo LP Flamingo) and Stuart Price, who produced the group’s previous album, 2008’s Day & Age.
