Preview Sky Ferreira’s “Red Lips” Video Edit
“One day until #RedLips video. Song preview coming up in er like 10 minutes” Sky Ferreira alerted fans on Twitter early on Monday (June 11) with a promise that “the sound quality will be a lot better tomorrow haha”. The forthcoming clip the pop starlet was alluding to is directed by controversial photographer Terry Richardson. We can only imagine what tomorrow will hold for us now that the “L.A. Lolita” and provocative photog have teamed up.
But for now we can sample the brainchild of Sky and “big sis” Shirley Manson. Last month, the Garbage frontwoman shared she was happy to help the 19-year-old songstress along the way with “Red Lips”, a track written especially for her (with some extra tweaks from Bird And The Bee‘s Greg Kurstin). While “Big Lips” is meant to be a part of Sky’s reinvention, it’s impossible to ignore how much the chorus sounds like a Garbage song (a great one at that). Even lyrically, we can just imagine “Such a big girl, such big news” coming from Shirley’s mouth.
