Carly Rae Jepsen‘s “Call Me Maybe” has done an phenomenal job of worming its way into our minds and onto our radio stations; no wonder it finally reached the top spot on the Hot 100. And ever since Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez released that lip dub of theirs, it seems like everyone and their mother has tried their hand at covering the Canadian pop star’s infectious single. So in honor of Carly’s chart-topping accomplishment, we offer five of the worst “Call Me Maybe” covers floating around in cyberspace. Yes, even worse than the one by the “Chocolate Rain” guy.

In no particular order of terribleness, we start off with Colin Powell — the latest political figure to tackle the song — singing the chorus with CBS This Morning‘s Gayle King without any consideration for the actual melody. This former Secretary of State should probably just stick with politics. Four more awful covers below!

Freak Morice In case you ever wanted to know what a Kidz Bop cover of “Call Me Maybe” would sound like, we present these infants.

Late Nyte Hype Pretty much the antithesis to our previous video, here are grown (and heavily tattooed) men who really have no business singing a song that is basically one very long pick-up line.

Ebon Lurks It would’ve been nice if he could pronounce the lyrics. Then again, he had trouble saying Carly’s last name, so I guess he gave us fair warning.

Dhara From the girl who brought you “Super Bass” (with “Bass” pronounced like the fish). At least she manages to pronounce “Maybe” correctly.”
