Fiona Apple Performs “Anything We Want” On ‘Jimmy Fallon’

Fiona Apple‘s first album in seven years, The Idler Wheel, is released today, and also unleashed upon the public is the typically hermit-like singer herself, as she appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Monday (June 18) to perform her new love song “Anything We Want”. And in case you’re wondering, the song isn’t about you, so stop being so vain.

“It’s gonna sound a little bit bitchy, I don’t care. There’s somebody who thinks that the song I’m about to sing is about them,” Fiona says, then looks right at camera, holding up what we think is a pool table ball. “It’s not about you… Well, it’s not about anybody, but I’m gonna be singing it to the person who gave me this. But if you did not give me this, I am not thinking about you.”

Fiona also performed Paul McCartney and Wings’ “Let Me Roll It” with The Roots, and relives her infamous 2004 Roseland Ballroom meltdown with Jimmy Fallon, who opened for her show that night. “The simplest answer is that I started crying, and I couldn’t physically stop crying,” she says. “I wish I could say what was going on but I’m protecting the guilty, stupid people!”

This is a busy week for Fiona, as her North American tour kicks off tonight in Ithaca, New York. And it appears she’s no longer as reclusive as she once was, as she has extended her tour’s run to October. Check out the full list of dates below.
