UK boy band phenomenon One Direction just released their chart-topping debut LP Up All Night earlier this year (stateside), but the boys are already gearing up for their next release. And, it turns out they’ll be hitting the studio with another Brit who’s currently making inroads onto the American charts: Ed Sheeran. “I wrote a couple of songs when I was 17 that One Direction want for their next album,” Sheeran, 21, recently said. “I’m going into the studio in August to produce the tracks for them. I won’t feature on the tracks though. There’s definitely a divide in genre.”

Meanwhile, according to ONTD, the lead single from 1D’s next album is called “Heartbreaker”, and it’s due out in November. The song is said to be produced by Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub and Savan Kotecha, the trio behind One Direction’s hits “What Makes You Beautiful” and “One Thing”. UPDATE: A Sony rep tells us, “Both the single name and release dates listed are false and it is too early to release any details on the forthcoming sophomore album to be released later this year.”
