Maroon 5’s “One More Night” Video: Watch Adam Levine As A Tragic Boxer

Is being a famous pop artist really so different from being a boxer? Scrappy Voice coach Adam Levine draws a pretty convincing — if not entirely metaphoric — comparison between the two in Maroon 5‘s video for second Overexposed single “One More Night”. In the clip, Levine juggles holding down his personal relationships, with both his woman and their baby, with his professional one as a fighter in the ring. He battles fierce competition every time he steps onto the mat, and, as we see, gets pretty banged up in the process.

Unfortunately, like with most pressure-cooker situations in life, something’s got to give — and in this case it’s Levine’s better half, who packs up pretty much everything in their household and splits with the kid while Adam is slugging it out on the clock.

It’s no secret that Levine and his flat-out gorgeous Sports Illustrated/Victoria’s Secret model girlfriend Anne Vyalitsyna split this past spring. So we wouldn’t be surprised to find out that the breakup had some impact on the theme for M5’s “One More Night” video.

The video itself was lensed by Friday Night Lights and Battleship director Peter Berg. The visual, for the most part, strays from the song’s lyrics, which seem to describe a man trying to resist the sexual charms of a woman he realizes he’s not compatible with.
