Pet Shop Boys announced today that “Winner”, their first single off upcoming album Elysium, will be released next week. The Andrew Dawson-produced song will first premiere on Monday, July 2, on BBC Radio 2’s The Ken Bruce Show before being made available for purchase on iTunes the following day. (According to the legendary UK pop duo’s official site, a slate of remixes and B-sides will be released on August 6, via a physical CD single and digital bundles.)

PSBs recorded Elysium earlier this year in L.A. with Grammy winner Dawson. “They’ve never done a record in Los Angeles before,” the producer/engieer, who’s also worked with Kanye West and fun., told us in April. “They wanted to be around that thing, and get that classic L.A. sound — the L.A. players and all that stuff.” According to the Boys’ site, the release date for the new album will be announced next week, as well.
