What would No Doubt be without their horns? The ska-pop band shows us just how meticulously they work with the brass in the second installment of their “In the Studio” series, which gives us glimpses behind the scenes as they concoct their sixth studio album Push and Shove (due in late September). After a much-too-long hiatus, we’re relieved to know that their signature sound will still be present on the new LP.

“Basically, all the sort of raggae-like-ish dance hall-y type songs have horns,” Gwen Stefani says of the new stuff. “I’m surprised how many songs actually have horns on this record. I don’t even think the last album had this many.” So there it is — Push and Shove may just be No Doubt’s horniest album yet!
