The Chart-Topping Albums Of 2012 (So Far): From Adele To Usher

Adele was the undisputed queen of the album chart in 2011, and, so far, she’s proving to be unstoppable this year as well. (Consider her baby-to-be‘s diaper fund settled, then!) That said, while it may seem like it, the London songstress hasn’t been the only one to reach the peak position on the Billboard Top 200 in 2012 so far. In looking over the roster of artists who’ve climbed to the top in the first half of the year, one thing is apparent: Age ain’t nothing but a number. Musicians whose careers launched in the 1970s (Bruce Springsteen, Lionel Richie), 1980s (Madonna), 1990s (Usher), 2000s (Michael Buble, John Mayer) and current decade (Nicki Minaj, One Direction) managed to score chart-topping albums between January and June.

Revisit the LPs that have dominated the first half of 2012 by flipping through our gallery above. (And note that we used the Billboard chart dated June 30 as the cut-off point — so look for Justin Bieber, Linkin Park, etc. in our year-end roundup.)
