Destiny’s Child Will Drop Unreleased Music This Fall

The esteemed ladies of Destiny’s Child have been able to pay their own automo-bills for quite some time, but now Bey, Kelly, Michelle, and possibly those other original members no one remembers are about to blast to the past as new music from the “Independent Women” hits shelves in November. Shall we throw our pagers out the window in celebration?

Alas, Beyonce, Michelle Williams, and Kelly Rowland didn’t take time out of their thriving solo careers to reunite in the studio. But apparently Mathew Knowles has been holding out on us — previously-unreleased Destiny’s Child material will join the faves we still can’t get out of our heads on two catalog releases this fall. But what took so long? We’ve been ready for this jelly for years!

The Huffington Post spoke to Mathew about this and other upcoming ventures, including the likelihood of a full-on Destiny’s Child reunion tour. (Since we know Beyonce’s just been sitting around twiddling her thumbs, with plenty of free time on her hands.)

“It takes a year of planning to do these tours, but first it starts with the artist wanting to do it,” Knowles said. “I hope in the next five years that there is a reunion tour. I think it would be incredible. The hardest thing would be choosing which songs they’re going to do, because we would want to mix it up with solo hits and Destiny’s Child hits. We would have to throw away some number ones from off the set list.”

For now, we’ll have to content ourselves with those new tracks — though if they’re really so jumpin’ jumpin’, we have a feeling they’d have been released long before now.

We’re even more skeptical about the possibility of any tour —by the time we get a Destiny’s Child reunion, we have a feeling Blue Ivy will be old enough to fill in for Bey.
