Adam Lambert may be getting a phone call from American Idol producers, after all. While promoting Ice Age: Continental Drift on the Today Show this morning, Season 10 and 11 judge Jennifer Lopez was asked about her future on the reality singing competition. “I signed on to just do the one year and I wound up doing two years,” Lopez said. “It’s a tough decision, either way, but I have to say that there are so many other things that I do and that I’ve put on hold for that. At the end of the day, whichever way, it’s a heartbreaking decision if I’m gonna have to go.”

Lopez continued by saying that, little by little, she’s making up her mind. “Everybody wants that definite yes or no,” J.Lo lamented. She then added, “But I am thinking maybe it’s time for me to go and do the other things that I really love to do, like films and right now I’m on tour, and performing.”

Jennifer is currently on tour with Enrique Iglesias to promote her compilation Dance Again… The Hits, which is due out July 20. The standard edition features 13 of Lopez’s singles — from “If You Had My Love” to “Dance Again” — while the deluxe version comes packed with a DVD of her music videos.

But just because she seems like the busiest woman in showbiz at the moment, don’t write J.Lo off of Idol just yet. She finished the topic on Today by noting, “But then again, I really love the show. So I — all I can do is tell you what I’m thinking.”

Without a doubt, Jennifer and Steven Tyler breathed new life into American Idol during the past two seasons. Do you think she’ll decide to split from the series once she finally makes her mind up?
