Patrick Stump Joins Gym Class Heroes For “Stereo Hearts” On ‘VH1 Unplugged’

Besides a surprise guest appearance on House, Patrick Stump has been laying low throughout 2012. And though the guy deserves a break from the limelight (writing, producing and playing every instrument on your solo album is one exhausting feat), we’re happy to see him pop up again for Gym Glass Heroes‘ upcoming VH1 Unplugged episode. Stump, a longtime producer, collaborator and friend of the band, filled in for Adam Levine on a live, stripped down version of the group’s Top 10 hit “Stereo Hearts”.

“I’ve actually been dying for this day,” said GCH frontman Travie McCoy of the band’s first Unplugged taping. “It gives us a chance to breathe new life into these songs as we strip them down, it’s very cool.”

Watch Stump become a Gym Class Hero in the preview performance above, and check out the full episode of VH1 Unplugged: Gym Class Heroes when it premieres online Thursday July 12 at 4 p.m. EST. [Via VH1]
