‘Step Up Revolution’: 5 Reasons We Can’t Wait To See The New Dance Flick

First they brought us Step Up, then they took things to The Streets, then came those amazing break dance moves in 3-D — and now we’re preparing ourselves for a dance Revolution. The Step Up series returns to theaters this Friday (July 27), and we’re more than a little excited for the next installment in the dance-tastic franchise. Between a new bumping soundtrack, the promise of more mind-blowing routines, and the return of a beloved SU character, we had a heck of a tough time narrowing down the list of reasons why we’ll be first in line to see Step Up Revolution. See if you agree with our Top 5 reasons why we can’t wait for opening night.

5.) The Music Duh! We’ve got Fergie, Pitbull and DJ Poet‘s “Feel Alive”, Jennifer Lopez and Flo Rida‘s “Goin’ In”, Timbaland and NeYo‘s “Hands In The Air”, and an M.I.A. “Bad Girls” remix, all of which lend themselves to incredible dance numbers.

4) A So You Think You Can Dance Reunion The film’s lead actress/dancer, Kathryn McCormick, came in third place in SYTYCD‘s Season 6 (who could forget her incredible hip hop routine by Tabitha and Napoleon D’Uomo to Chris Brown‘s “I Can Transform Ya”?), while Step Up Revolution‘s choreography comes curtosey of SYTYCD album Travis Wall.

3.) A Little Bieber Magic Not only is Justin Bieber featured on the soundtrack with LMFAO‘s RedFoo and Far East Movement with “Live My Life”, but Step Up Revolution was produced by Jon Chu, director of JB’s documentary Never Say Never. And since everything the Biebs touches turns to gold, we must assume that this will, too.

2) The Dancing! If the incredible chair dance break in the “Hands In The Air” video is any indication of the kind of moves we can expect in Step Up Revolution, we’re in for a wild ride. And to think, we were certain nothing could top the rain routine from Step Up 2: The Streets.

1) The Return Of Moose! Adam G. Sevani is back, which means we can expect another incredible, light-hearted dance sequence.
