At this point, we’re rarely shocked when we hear that one of our beloved starlets may have lewd photos or videos floating around somewhere in the ether (ahem, Rihanna
). But when cute Canadian sensation Carly Rae Jepsen
is the startlet in question, we have to drop everything and gather ourselves. Perez Hilton
on Monday (July 23) posted blurry screencaps from a sex tape purporting to show Jepsen
engaging in a sex act. The featured woman is brunette, and kinda, sorta
resembles the breakout star…we guess? But in her Twitter
response, Jepsen made sure to shoot down the claims in unambiguous terms: “Discovered that someone put up a sex tape claiming to be me. Ridiculous. Obviously not me.” The tweet has done little to quiet the internet masses, though, now that there’s word Vancouver police are investigating whether personal photos were stolen from Jepsen’s computer.
After receiving an anonymous tip in March, Jepsen’s camp called the cops, claiming Jepsen’s electronic files were stolen. During the investigation, authorities confirmed that Carly had, in fact, been hacked, TMZ reported. The photos at the center of this investigation apparently have not been leaked to the public yet, and are not to be confused with the definitely-not-Carly pics that appeared online July 2. Those turned out to be 21-year-old “internet model” Destiny Benedict. After Carly’s reps debunked those initial rumors, Benedict confirmed that she was in the photos in pretty much the exact way you would expect an “internet model” to: by tweeting “Being mistaken for Carly Rae… Anal maybe?”
In summary: Carly needs to give her crisis management team a raise, maybe?
