Rick Ross and co. are in seduction mode for the new cut “Diced Pineapples” from Rozay’s new album God Forgives, I Don’t, out July 31. In fact, Drake is so committed to the mood that he doesn’t even rap, and is only along to croon for the hook. An opportunity wasted, perhaps, but Wale makes up for the lack of Drake rhymes with a free-form flow that opens the track, along with a quick verse to bookend the song. The three hip-hop heavyweights may be flaunting their sensitive sides here, but don’t get it twisted: “seduction mode” does not equal “romantic.” In other words, when they talk about eating dripping pineapple, they’re not talking about a Sunday brunch date.
