John Mayer Is A Travelin’ Man In His “Queen Of California” Video

In his previous video for Born And Raised single “Shadow Days”, John Mayer traveled out west on an expedition to get in touch with himself, and in his new video for “Queen Of California”, the songwriter is still on the move. This time, however, he doesn’t have to go too far to experience different locales. In the clip, filmed entirely in one shot (or at least edited together to make it seem like it was), Mayer leaves his hotel room and heads out on a leisurely stroll into the street, which swiftly transitions into a wooded area, then to a fashion shoot, then an on-stage jam session, then… well, just watch and see.

Mayer’s new relaxed attitude is due to him finally deciding to grow up after enjoying his celebrity a little too much. “For a couple of years, it was just figuring it all out, and I’m glad I actually stayed out of the spotlight,” he told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview back in May. “It was like, ‘No, idiot. Go away and be 33 and 34 instead of 28 for the fourth year.'”

He now resides in Montana, which is pretty much the exact opposite of Hollywood (yet still not far enough away to evade Taylor Swift songs penned about you).
