Katy Perry Covers ‘Elle’, Talks Her Love Life And Being A Role Model

After the nearly two-year affair that was Teenage Dream, it seems that Katy Perry is finally ready to move on. The pop star is on the cover of the September issue of Elle magazine, in which she discusses her love life in the wake of her divorce from Russell Brand: “I’m a woman who likes to be courted, strongly,” she says about finding a new relationship. “Never say never, I guess you’d say.”

When it comes to her career, Perry isn’t necessarily tied down to being a pop star forever. “I love what I do. And when I don’t love what I do, I’ll make a change,” she says. “I can’t be the candy queen forever”, she adds, a statement that rings rather profoundly following last month’s (symbolic?) peppermint bra mishap.

As for being a role model, the 27-year-old says, “I have no regrets… I’m not going to be everything to everyone. I can’t tell a person when it’s time for them to have sex. Or if they should have a cigarette… But I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message.”
