Lady Gaga Gets New Tattoo, Possibly Reveals Title Of New Album
Lady Gaga previously stated that she would reveal the name of her new album, the follow-up to 2011’s Born This Way, in September. But the pop star may have already done just that via her new tattoo. “New ink new album,” tweeted the singer, posting the above photo of her brand new tattoo, reading “ARTPOP.” She followed with another photo, this one with just words, reading, “We could / We could belong together / ARTPOP.”
Could this be the name of Gaga’s new album, as well as some new song lyrics? It certainly looks that way, especially if we look back at her past behavior before releasing a new record — the singer inked herself with a unicorn “Born This Way” tattoo several months before the release of her album of the same name.
So what does “ARTPOP” mean? It could be a tribute to one of Gaga’s favorite artists, Andy Warhol, who was famous for pop-culture-influenced paintings. “Warhol said art should be meaningful in the most shallow way,” Gaga once said of the man who inspired her music and style. “He was able to make commercial art that was taken seriously as fine art … [and] that’s what I’m doing, too.”
The pop star hasn’t just been offering hints at her next LP — she’s also been sharing some never-before-seen pics on her social networking site Littlemonsters.com, including herself costumed up like a chic designer unicorn. Check out photos of Gaga looking pretty horny — oh, you know what we mean.
