Over the past week, our readers had plenty to say about the London Olympics opening ceremony, the premiere of Justin Bieber‘s “As Long As You love Me” video, Mariah Carey‘s new single “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)” and the crop of artists who made up this year’s MTV Video Music Awards nominations. Head below for our roundup of the best of the chatter over these pop events!

:: Denise sang along with London Olympics 2012: Sir Paul McCartney Performs “Hey Jude” At Opening Ceremony : “Great Performance Paul! I have been a fan of yours since I was 12 years old. You really united all races, countries and genders together with the crowds participation. And thats was the Olypmics are all about, the whole world coming together as one for this very special event. Thank you again Paul for all that you do and Thank you Great Britian for a fabulous Opening Ceremony.”

:: But while Denise said hello, Pearmont said goodbye: “I’ve seen McCartney in person numerous times. This was a total embarassment. His voice is for the most part gone, and contrary to the press reports, virtually no one in the stadium was singing or even paying attention. Talk about a snow job!”

:: Setra was full of love for London Olympics 2012: Isles Of Wonder Opening Ceremony Soundtrack Tops Download Charts: “I loved the opening ceremony, especially the segment that celebrated British music. This CD looks like a must-purchase. I loved the theatrical and historical parts of this production and thought the set was entirely impressive. This show gave me a lot to talk about at Dish the next day with my coworkers.”

:: Naomi only saw the worst in MTV Video Music Awards 2012: The Nominations: “This year’s nominations are just stupid. How did Selena Gomez get nominated for Best Female Video? MTV? Seriously? Gotye should be the one with the most nominations. How did Beez in the Trap get nominated for Best Hip Hop Video? It wasn’t that good. Ugh. I don’t even know if I should watch this year.”

:: MJforever also moon-walked all over the nominees: “Where’s Madonna on this list? How can MTV completely ignore the woman who’s been the Queen of VMAs since day 1? And also, how could they snub Kelly Clarkson, JLo, Britney, Usher, or even Gaga? The only people worthy enough for moonmen here are Rihanna, Katy, and Gotye.”

:: Logan, at least, was only partially running: “I’m fairly pleased with this years nominations. Last year was pathetic. They gave Katy Perry video of the year, something she didn’t deserve (at least for that video). And the best new artist nom’s were all off too. Wtf was Kreayshawn even nominated. She’s like the biggest slap in the face to music.”

:: Jenny was feeling deflated by Mariah Carey’s “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)” Premieres: Listen To Mimi’s New Single: “I have to say i was expecting a lot more from her.. This might be her worst first single.. Besides the chorus which sounds like a bunch of screeching shes has a 5 line verse.”

:: Christopher was also cross: “I just don’t know about this song. Is this a Rick Ross and Meek Mill song featuring Mariah? I’m slightly confused. Sure, the message from ‘Triumphant’ is great (and kudos for surviving those dark days) but the single lacks that ‘umph’ and magic Mariah is known for, and capable of. The song doesn’t have to be a club banger, i.e. We Belong Together, to catch my attention but ‘Triumphant’ is stale and forgettable. I am a sad LAMB.”

:: Finally, Scarlett sha-moaned over Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me” Video: Watch Him Get Sexual (And Beat Up): “Just quit it with the MJ comparisons. No way, no how. Never.”
