Aaliyah & Drake “Enough Said”: Listen To The Collaboration

News came in March that an album of unreleased Aaliyah material was in the works, and now what appears to be the first offering from the set, the Drake-featuring “Enough Said”,  has arrived online via Drizzy’s YouTube channel. There’s no need to doubt the Canadian rapper’s affection for the late R&B/pop diva — he’s got a tattoo of her face on his back. So, what does “Enough Said” sound like? Head below to give the ambient-sounding tune a spin.

Aaliyah feat. Drake — “Enough Said”

“I hate to see you feel this way, so tell me what can I do to make it better for you, baby,” Aaliyah sings on the haunting track, while Drake occasionally chirps up with a “what’s up”. Then, halfway through, the MC launches into an ill-advised, ho-hum rap about (yawn) his cash, achievements and how with “every million I gain an enemy or a cousin.”

We get it — you’re the shit, Drake. But, honestly, this is not the “tribute” we would have liked to hear.

Previous Aaliyah collaborator Jeffrey “J. Dub” Walker tipped the Internet off that there was an album of material from the late singer in the works when he noted the following earlier this year: “Just got great news today; the smash unreleased song called ‘Steady Ground’ I produced on #Aaliyah is gonna be on her upcoming album:)”

Let’s hope there’s less self-congratulatory tracks than “Enough Said” on the LP.
