Gotye Premieres Animated “Save Me” Video

Gotye trades in the bodypaint from his VMA nominated “Somebody That I Used To Know” clip for an animated avatar in his new video for “Save Me”, off his album Making Mirrors. In the video, which was “singlehandedly directed and animated by the fabulous Peter Lowey at Piepants Animation,” notes the singer, we see an animated man attempt to put himself together, but only becomes whole once he meets his other half.

The video is a visual delight, blending hand-drawn animation with CGI, but we don’t see this becoming anywhere near the parody machine his previous video was. Consider that a compliment. [Via Consequence Of Sound]
