Six months after releasing her acclaimed Visions album, Canadian indie-pop synth songstress Grimes hit up Late Night With Jimmy Fallon for her (overdue!) debut performance on US television. The V cover girl‘s song of choice was the Visions cut “Genesis”. Decked out in a red kimono and flowery white fingerless gloves, Grimes swayed above a scattered mound of petals while playing the keyboard and singing, as two dancers hopped around behind her.

It’s truly a mesmerizing, other-worldly performance that will have you scratching your noggin and wondering if we’ve somehow been transported back to 1982 — on, like, Mars. And this is absolutely why we recently singled her out as one of our 12 Women About To Pop In 2012.
